This drive was contained in a Maxtor one touch 4, and presented with issues of not starting up properly. when it did start it clicked once and shut down.
Using proprietary methods and hardware, we were able to stabilise the hard drive long enough to start to get a read on the drive. As soon as we could get the drive stabilised, we recovered the data onto the server starting with the most important data.
The drive remained stable long enough for us to recover the data from it, and safely retain it on our server.
As we did not have to open the drive in the cleanroom, our client was charged the minimum amount for hardware problems. The client was happy with the recovery and received her data on a 2Tb drive that we provided.
