We received a WD10TMVV-11TK7S1 Western Digital Passport from a client that was showing no apparent noises, nor any unusual activity other than it would  not connect.

Once we had it in here for assessment, we ascertained that the the drive had so many bad sectors that th firmware area had filled up and was stopping the drive from accessing.

Once we fixed the drive’s firmware area, we still had an issue with the bad areas of the drive, which we were able to bypass for many of them. Once this was done, we were able to start slowly reading the data, and are now in the process of recovering all of the requested data.
